A company of 11 young men between the ages of 18 and 27 decided to go live on Facebook Live while boating on Lake Mangrul in Nagpur, India. To get into the shot, they huddled on one side of the boat, not realizing that this could cause it to capsize. This is exactly what happened on the evening of July 10.

As a result of the incident, seven people drowned and another passenger of the boat was reported missing. Three were rescued, two of those rescued are in hospital in critical condition. Some of the victims were in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

The Hindu newspaper quoted Chandrashekhar Bahadure, senior inspector of the police station, as saying:

«The guys got into a very small boat. They were so engrossed in taking selfies and streaming on Facebook that they didn't notice how they all ended up at one end of the boat. The boat capsized due to imbalance caused by uneven weight distribution».

The search for the missing young man continued throughout the day and resumed the next morning.
