Van Ossanen has unveiled a 47-metre concept with a top speed of 29 knots.

Van Oossanen Naval Architects together with Milan-based designer Federico Fiorentino have developed a 47.5m concept yacht capable of 29 knots. The interiors for Fast Displacement XL®The interiors of Fast Displacement XL -300 Sport will be designed by Cristiano Gatto. Thom Conboy, president of OCEAN Indepence America, is responsible for the sales of the concept.

«I have given this yacht a modern sleek and impetuous exterior that blends perfectly with the lightness of her generous open spaces. The aggressive exterior styling hints at a high performance hull hidden below the waterline»," comments Federico Fiorentino.

The design is a radical evolution of the Fast Displacement hull form.

According to Perry van Oossanen its advantages are maximum length, higher comfort and better performance.

The improved hull shape allows for maximum open spaces without an unnecessary increase in interior volume.

So increasing the length by 20% will increase the interior volume by 10% and the open deck area by 30-40% to create unprecedented open air lounges, sunbathing areas, or enormous swimming pools.

«So it's now possible to build yachts that extend beyond 45 m, reach speeds of nearly 30 knots, and have drafts as low as 6 ft (1.8 m) while staying within the 300 BRT limit, Perry sums up».

The layout provides five cabins for up to 10 passengers. The master stateroom is located on the main deck, while three doubles and one twin are on the lower deck. The crew quarters are located on the lower deck forward and can accommodate up to 6 crew members. Key features include a helicopter pad on the foredeck, an infinity edge swimming pool on the stern and a side-loading garage for two jet skis and a 6.25m tender.

In the engine room are two MTU 16V2000 M96L diesel engines of 2600 hp. At 12 knots the yacht will cruise 3,500 miles without refuelling. A pair of gyroscopes with active interceptors will guarantee a smooth ride for all onboard.
