Australian Lisa Blair, 32, sailed solo around Antarctica in 184 days. She sailed the Open 50 Climate Action Now from Albany in Western Australia in January and navigated the Antarctica Cup Ocean Yacht Race route, which runs below 45 degrees south latitude.

Her initial goal was to break Fyodor Konyukhov's record of 102 days solo and non-stop around Antarctica in 2008. The Russian has so far been the only one to take part in the Antarctica Cup Ocean Yacht Race.

However, during a storm in South Africa, Lisa Blair's mast broke at the base. She was forced to make a stopover in Cape Town. It took two months to fix the boat.

«I almost gave up - I called my mother several times in tears, saying it was too hard now, too dangerous»," Blair admits.

Nevertheless, she found the strength to continue her journey. On the evening of 25 July, the Australian docked in Albany, becoming the first woman to sail solo around Antarctica.
