In the Atlantic, boats are plagued by storms and in the UK, a hurricane of sentiment caused damage to a vessel.
David Taylor, in a fit of jealousy, cut the cable of a £450000 moored boat carrying his girlfriend and alleged lover.

Meanwhile, the owner of the affected boat Coco, Mike Hay, denies that anything untoward was going on between him and Miss Brooks.

After realising the boat was moving, the panicked couple called for help from the police, coastguard, firefighters and anyone else in the area.

Mike Hay: «Hannah was crying and screaming «We're going to die!» So I had to ask her to be quiet.

Taylor pleaded guilty to damages. He will have to pay two bills: £1500 to his likely rival and £11500 for the second damaged Vortex vessel, which was damaged while Hay's yacht was adrift.

Britain's Othello is free on bail pending sentencing on October 5.
