We're up to a hundred! Azimut-Benetti bought out Fraser

The Italian yacht giant Azimut-Benetti has completed its buyout of major yacht broker Fraser Yachts, increasing its stake from 83% to 100%.

Paolo Vitelli, President of Azimut-Benetti said: «This acquisition is part of the strategic plan of a group of companies that offers superyacht owners not only the most beautiful boats but also the best service. We are the only player in the industry that takes care of the owner of a yacht, from its purchase, management, refit and modernisation, to crewing, chartering and onwards sale».

Fraser Yachts, in addition to completing more than 50 sales and purchases per year, is the world's largest yachting services provider. The company operates 120 superyachts, including one 56-metre motor yacht Benetti Ulyssesand dozens of crew members. Recently the brokerage has made an extra appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show with the most high-profile sale of the year at the show.

According to the new full owner, Fraser is now recognized as a leader in its field, accounting for approximately 15% of the market. And the recent openings of new offices in New York and Hong Kong hint at a likely increase in that figure soon.

Azimut-Benetti, the leading manufacturer of luxury motor yachts is present in 68 countries with 138 sales offices. The group incorporates the world-famous brands Azimut Yachts, Azimut Grande, Atlantis and Benetti Yachts, Yachtique, Fraser Yachts, Lusben, Marina di Varazze and Royal Yacht Club Moscow, offering customers a generous selection of boats from 30-metre speedboats to totally exclusive mega-masters.

With the purchase of the outstanding Fraser shares Azimut-Benetti has further strengthened its position among the corporate giants that control a major share of the global yachting industry.

The Italian shipyard is now working on high-profile projects such as its new flagship, the 107-metre Benetti FB277 - launch should not be expected before 2019, and the 70m Project 169, due to see the light of day next year.
