Italian fashion maestro Roberto Cavalli has ordered a new 27-metre yacht for his 78th birthday. The designer chose the Cerri Cantieri Navali shipyard for the exclusive project called Freedom.

The interior and exterior designs were based on Cavalli's own designs. He worked on the project with his friend, the well known designer Tommaso Spadolini.

The yacht can accommodate 6 passengers. The full-beam master suite is located on the main deck and 2 guest cabins together with crew quarters on the lower deck. To make the aft deck clear for sunbathing, a forward garage has been designed to store the tender. The sunbathing area will also be available on the upper deck.

The 76-year-old designer decided he had enough of getting caught with young girlfriends on his yacht by the paparazzi and - no, he did not abandon his love affairs - but asked that the new boat provide him with maximum privacy.

So the boat has tinted glazing and a generously sized cockpit concealed behind high bulwarks.

Powered by three water-jet engines this stylish aluminium hulled boat will reach an enviable speed of 40 knots.

Freedom will be launched in the summer of 2018. The yacht will join the Fuoriserie line of fully custom yachts. One of CCN's latest creations is the 50m Elsea, the biggest premiere of the year at Cannes.
