Kevin Keeler, a resident of Great Britain, was killed by a 29-foot yacht that fell on him. The man was repairing his boat at a yacht club. He was underneath the 2.7-tonne wooden vessel when it suddenly collapsed.

When the 56-year-old yachtsman was discovered, he was already unconscious. The paramedics had arrived by helicopter and were unable to help him. The man died at the scene.

Kevin Keeler, a father of five, joined the Weymouth Sailing Club a year ago after moving from another area. He was the owner of a Westerly GK29 wooden sailing boat, which is over 30 years old.

«Kevin was a keen yachtsman and a beloved member of the Weymouthsailing community», his friend Tatiana Saltykova said of the deceased.

Police are now investigating the details of what happened.
