British shipyard Pendennis has delivered the 38.8-metre sailing superyacht Vijonara to its owner. The boat is the first sailboat over 30 metres in length to be built in the United Kingdom in the last three years.

The 128ft aluminium boat has been designed by internationally renowned Dutch designer Andre Hoek and her interiors have been created in collaboration with French luxury goods manufacturer Hermès.

As the second hull of the Truly Classic 128 project the yacht has a number of key differences from her predecessor, the most important being the rigging and sail rigging in the style of vintage sailing yachts.

The Vijonara's 2.85 meter bowsprit allows for a leeward sailing under asymmetrical spinnaker.

Additionally, the owner has asked for optimized deck space by moving the wheelhouse from the aft to the fore in front of the central cockpit, so that handling of the yacht can be combined with socializing with guests. The free space aft has been taken by a master cabin with a bathroom, private relaxation area and study.

In total, there are three guest cabins accommodating six passengers and five berths for the crew on board.

The boat will be unveiled at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show which, according to Pendennis Managing Director Mike Carr, will be a fitting addition to the yard's 30-year anniversary celebrations.
