Demand for yacht charter among Russians has increased by 15-20% compared to last year - this observation was made by experts of Avilon, the largest automobile holding in Russia.

Our compatriots have got tired of lazy beach rest and tiresome excursions to local places of interest and more and more often they show preference for charter of a yacht. Each year boat charter becomes more available, and travelling on board gives much more emotions and impressions, allowing to see the world from another angle.

More often Russians choose yachts in the range from 30 to 40 meters in the segment from 150 thousand euro per week - large enough to have everything necessary for comfortable rest on board, and compact enough to enter secluded marinas and bays. Similarly, Avilon's experts have noted an increasing demand for more budget-friendly yachts of up to 30m, which cost in the region of 30,000 euros per week.

Interestingly enough, new models of yachts are becoming more and more popular.

«Many clients prefer active rest, water sports and require state-of-the-art gadgets and entertainment on board, so it is logical that older vessels quickly lose their rental value», explains Andrey Svezhentsev, head of chartering and brokerage at AVILON AURA Yachts.

The trend of the last years is rent of expeditionary vessels for voyages to rare destinations, cold seas and Arctic. However, yachts over 70 meters in length attract less interest due to their high cost.

Such destinations as French Azure Coast, Italian Riviera, Sicily - Sardinia - Corsica, Balearic Islands and Amalfi Coast remain the most popular with Russian clients.
