Abner Kingman's shot during «the 34th America's Cup» was named Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image award 2013.

A professional jury of photographers and industry representatives selected the winner. It included such giants as Kurt Arrigo (we collected his best photos here), Dona Bertarely, record-breaking enthusiast and helmsman of the maxitrimaran Spindrift 2, and other respected experts. The results were announced on December 11 at the World Sailing Forum.

There were 82 deserving photographers in the competition, but we more than fully agree with the choice.

Still «almost capsize» Team New Zealand is the turning point of the 34th America's Cup, going down in sailing racing history.(A must watch!)

We have compiled the best shots of the winner into one photo gallery - welcome!

The second hero of the day was an Englishman Rick Tomlinson. His photo of a pink Volvo Ocean 65 has won the Public Award. «About 20 participants fought for» for this popular award. You can see them in our material.
