Dutch Expressionism: Superyacht Galatea

Heesen Shipyard has finally revealed details of the launch of its latest creation, the white-white 40m megayacht Galatea.

«Galatea» was launched at the shipyard in Aussa where a private party was held in her honour.

«Galatea», maidenly YN 15640 hull, is the first so called «sportster» of the Dutch shipyard.
Powerful, with an aluminum hull, eye-catching interior, and built to the high standards of the Dutch craftsmen. This luxurious palace of a yacht can accelerate to 27.5 knots.

The owner wanted maximum relaxation on the upper deck, and the 85 square metres of flybridge space looks convincing for this purpose. The flybridge will of course hold the control station and the sun-protected dining area.

The interior is by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and will be decorated by a Dutch expressionist interior designer. The contrasting colours of the woods, the clean lines and the glass details are an impressive and elegant result.

Galatea will be sea-tested in the North Sea and reportedly will be delivered in late March. Currently no plans are in place to charter the yacht.
