We have already written about a daring undertaking of Fedor Konyukhov to cross the Pacific Ocean by rowboat «Turgoyak» by himself. The latest news from the fields: he has managed to cross 3 thousand nautical miles, i.e. one third of the planned route.

The navigator got in touch on February 8 and told that he had never missed a single sunset yet. He now estimated that he was at 10 degrees South latitude. There are about 600 miles to go to the Equator.

«I had a dream today that I was walking on the ground, in some green field. It's so great. When the alarm rang, I didn't want to wake up, trying to prolong these moments. Here on the boat, I move around on my knees, crawling from cabin to deck and back again. I hardly ever stand up to the full height, and there's nowhere to walk around - the cockpit is only 3 meters long».

Fedor Konyukhov is approaching the island of Fatu Hiva which belongs to the Marquesas Islands archipelago. They are located in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean and are attached to French Polynesia.

We wish the intrepid traveler good luck!
