Beginning of spring will be really hot in St. Petersburg. On the shores of Gulf of Finland two largest sailing competitions will take place at once: Russian Open Snowkiting Championship and World Sailing Championship in snowkiting and winter windsurfing disciplines.
Championship of Russia starts on February 27 and will last till March 3. Best athletes from Novosibirsk, Togliatti, Murmansk, Samara, Yaroslavl, Petrozavodsk, Surgut, Orenburg, Volgograd, Syktyvkar, Perm, Miass, Nadym and other Russian and Ukrainian cities will come to the city. According to the participants and organizers of the competition, not in February warm weather and lack of snow will not affect competitions.
Immediately after the end of the domestic competition - March 3 - the international level competition will start. The yachting port «Hercules» will gather participants from different countries including Russia.
Besides spectacular races, there will also be a cultural programme and several presentations for spectators.
