Damen has released a video showing SeaXplorer 75, a member of the new range of expedition superyachts in the 55m to 100m size range. The first detailed renderings of the SeaXplorer 75, which has been re-named SeaXplorer 77, were shown at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show.
«The six-deck Explorer, designed by Azure Naval Architects in accordance with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Polar Code, carries an impressive inventory of expedition equipment», including two helicopters for which a platform and hangar are equipped. The yacht also has a dive centre and two tender garages, one forward and one aft.
SeaXplorer 75 is capable of carrying enough food and fuel for a 40 day voyage without a port call.
The yard previously described SeaXplorer 75 «as a first-class crossover that combines superyacht qualities with serious capability», and Rose Damen, managing director of Amels and Damen, describes the vessel as «an all-season yacht for those who want to spend maximum time exploring the world».
«The combination of the know-how of our Amels luxury yachts with the Damen Shipyards Group's expertise in building commercial vessels is truly unique - you can see it in the design. The SeaXplorer 75 is designed to meet the individual requirements of our clients»," adds Rose Damen.
The accommodation area for 12 guests includes two VIP cabins, situated next to the observation deck and outdoor terrace. Of course, the layout also includes a separate owner's suite.
The keel-laying took place in July 2018 at Damen Shipyards Galati on the banks of the Danube, and the boat should be ready by the end of 2020. The ceremony was personally attended by the owner of the Explorer, who, following a long-standing maritime tradition, melted a coin into the keel for good luck.
The smaller SeaXplorer 65 is now similarly under active construction and will be delivered in the same 2020.
