Heesen has launched the eighth yacht in its successful 5000 Aluminium Class series. At the christening ceremony in Oss, the 50-metre boat, formerly known as Project Aster, was named Masa.

«Diamond» - as her name translates - is a jewel in the crown of Heesen's line of all-aluminium semi-displacement yachts.

She has a recognizable look byFrank Laupman of Omega Architects that retains the generic Heesen characteristics of a«pelican» bow and reverse saddle deck.Masa has a top speed of 23 knots thanks to her clever and extremely lightweight aluminum construction. She is powered by two MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines.

The interiors are thanks in no small part to Cristiano Gatto . The craftsman himself described them as «fresh and elegant», while the yard adds that the unobtrusive color palette of mostly pastel tones with silver accents creates «atmosphere of serenity».

With a gross tonnage of approximately 500 gross tons, the vessel is very spacious. The standard layout features five cabins on the lower deck and a master suite forward on the main deck. A total of 12 guests and nine crew members will be accommodated on board.

Masa will be in the local harbour for some time, until all on-board systems are commissioned.

During her maiden voyage around the world she will make her way to Hellevutseløys, where she will be put into sea trials. The handover to the owner is scheduled for June 2019.
