«American designer Steve Kozloff , author of a number of Goliaths, has shown a new concept - a six-deck polar explorer» Sterne Arctique with a length of 72 meters.

Sterne Arctique, named after the Arctic Tern, is ready to face the harshest conditions.

Ice-class Explorer which is powered by diesel-electric propulsion will have a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. It will be able to go without refueling for a long period, but no one knows for how long.

Considering the hectic lifestyle that this expedition yacht is going to face, the designers envisage a 235 square metre hangar that could hold up to four small helicopters or two medium-sized ones. Thanks to the huge take-off and landing area, the helicopters will land and soar safely even in the harshest of weather conditions. A pair of free-fall lifeboats also work for safety.

Sterne Arctique is not only efficient but also comfortable. Six cabins, including four doubles and two suites, are configured to accommodate 12 guests. The luxurious interiors meet the highest standards of the superyacht world and the abundance of natural light with her expansive glazing makes the interior space feel truly limitless.

As for other amenities, the boat has a full-size pool in its bow with a retractable hard top over it.

There's basically a lot done here with an eye toward the Sterne Arctique's habitat.

That's why the doors and railings are endowed with a heated feature, and the side passageways on the two decks are sheltered.

In December 2018 Steve Kozloff unveiled an equally interesting project, the 90-metre Kosatka, and even earlier, the 117-metre Alexis.
