Arcadia celebrated its tenth anniversary with the world premiere of the XL version of the popular semi-displacement yacht Sherpa at the Cannes Yacht Festival .

Arcadia has delivered nearly 30 hulls to owners over the decade.

«Arcadia Yachts entered the yachting market with a concept motor yacht that stood out from the crowd. It wasn't just about the design and layout of the interiors, there were also a number of solutions that allowed guests to be close to nature and the sea," says Ugo Pellegrin , Managing Director of Arcadia Yachts. - The aim of the brand was to promote a lifestyle focused on wellness. A quiet yacht that doesn't need to hold on to anything when it's underway, a yacht that doesn't vibrate, on which people can sit on the sofa and enjoy the views. Ten years ago we believed in a new approach to yachting, where rushing would not be a constant. More and more people share our approach now, it inevitably leads to lower fuel consumption and - willingly or not - a significant reduction in environmental impact».

The 24-meter Arcadia Sherpa XL is a further development of this «green» concept. Like other Arcadia boats, she is equipped with solar panels, has energy-efficient insulated glass windows, and the semi-displacement hull is designed to make the boat use as little fuel as possible.

These are not just words.

Initial tests showed the boat is capable of up to 23 knots and at 12 knots eats 6.5 litres per mile - almost 30% less than her 85- to 90-foot competitors.

» Solar panels provide 3 kW of power, enough to keep all «onboard hotel services such as air conditioning and electrical power (Sherpa XL boasts energy-efficient LED lights and low-powered appliances).

The design idea around which the Hot Labs studio built this boat is the staggered deck plan that allows them all to be connected by a single staircase. The Sherpa XL is wider than most competitors in this size segment - 7 meters versus the standard 6.4 meters. Located in the front engine compartment, the garage can hold a 4-meter-long tender. The result of all this planning know-how is 220 square meters of usable space that is used to the maximum.

«Another» trademark of Arcadia yachts is the ability to convert enclosed spaces into open air via large, electrically operated windows that can be lowered completely.

On the Arcadia Sherpa XL, such windows are located in the 35 sqm sky lounge, where an elevated control station, seating group and a couple of tables are located. If the owner has opted for the four-cabin layout, the galley is also located here. In the three-cabin version, the galley is on the lower deck. In both cases, the master suite is located amidships and spans the full width of the boat. Another pair of sliding window doors can be installed on the main deck in the dining area, but this is optional. In the base deck, this space is open and protected from the elements by a hardtop only.

Overall, the Sherpa XL has a lot of open areas, making it a good choice for milder climates such as the Mediterranean.
