Italian shipyard Benetti has announced a line of hybrid expedition superyachts at the Monaco Yacht Show.

The first of the three is the B.YOND 37. According to Benetti, this 37-metre steel and aluminium vessel is «a serious expedition yacht designed to cruise the world» despite its compactness. Her relatively small size will allow her to enter tight and shallow marinasBahamas иCaribbean.

The first model of the new range features a lot of glass (over 200 square meters of exterior surfaces are covered with glass), internal volume of 500 gross tons, and a garage big enough to hold a couple of tenders and as many jet skis, but hidden for the sake of common aesthetics.

The underlying concept for the layout is based on a clear-cut zoning of the space. To this end, the designers added a fourth deck and separated the lounge area for guests and the owner from the crew area with a separate staircase.

«All the four crew cabins, as well as the captain's cabin, galley, laundry, cold room,» and the gym are situated on the lower deck. A small cargo lift will run from here and up to sandeck level.

The yard calls the layout of the B.YOND 37«a revolution in terms of space utilization».

The boat will receive an advanced Siemens Marine diesel-electric propulsion system that will provide low fuel consumption, a range of 5,000 to 10,000 nautical miles and minimal environmental impact.

The first hull of the new range is already under construction and is scheduled to be delivered to the owner in two years' time.

The details of B.YOND 37 project will be fully disclosed on October 15 and the second hybrid yacht of the announced line will be presented later. It is known that its length will be 44 meters. The third and the smallest hybrid superyacht will be the last but it is not clear when.
