Bavaria Yachts will show the new Bavaria C42 and Bavaria SR41 at boot Düsseldorf in January 2020. We tell you about them in detail.

Bavaria C42

Although this 12.38-metre (without the half-metre bowsprit) Mediterranean cruising sailboat was created by Bavaria in collaboration with Italian Cossutti Yacht Design, she is an extension of the C-yacht line, but she has a lot of personality. The hull ledges on the stern waterline (the so-called «cheekbones») and the V shape forward played a major role in shaping the character of the boat. Their combination had a positive effect on the boat's sailing characteristics, making it both more responsive and more stable, and allowed the volume of interior space to be significantly increased.

The stern «cheekbones» increase the waterline length to 11.27 metres. The V-shaped bow narrows towards the waterline. This shape compensates for the wide stern, reducing the trim on the heel. This makes the boat safe to sail even in rough seas.

The ballast factor at 2700kg keel weight and total sail weight of 9600kg is 28%. With a standard keel the C42 has a draft of 2.1m. With a shallow keel it is 1.7 metres.

The mainsail will be equipped with a mainsail and a self-flapping jib with a total area of 101 square meters.«In addition,» C42 will have an 85 sq.m. Code Zero and a 140 sq.m. genoa.

The staterooms are located fore and aft of the boat. Depending on the layout there will be two or three cabins. Thanks to the improved hull form, the cabins are more spacious. For example, in the forward cabin, you can easily put a bed with the dimensions of 1.8 × 2.1 meters. Maximum width of the boat is 4,29 meters.

Bavaria SR41

Designed in collaboration with Marco Casali of Too Design Italy, this 13.29-meter boat is the first in the SR range, a chimera of the existing S and R series.

The boat is designed for those who intend to use it to spend a day or two on the water with family and friends. There are two sunbathing areas in the lounge area, but the main attraction will be the swim platform and the comfortable cockpit with a large transformer recliner. The sunbed can be transformed into a comfortable cockpit with a table just off the water's edge in seconds. The backrest also folds away, allowing it to be used as an additional bench adjacent to the main table in the cockpit, under the roof.

Thanks to the large windows creating stylish black stripes on the SR41's white hull, there is plenty of sunlight inside. With a maximum hull width of nearly 4 meters and over two meter high ceilings in the cabins, guests will not suffer from claustrophobia.

There is only one possible option of lay-out, but they tried to think it through and make it as convenient as possible. At midships there is a spacious master suite with its own bathroom. There is even enough space on the boat to separate the shower room into a separate room. The VIP double guest cabin is forward. It also has its own bathroom. The remaining space is taken by the galley and the crew mess.

The boat will be available in coupe, hardtop or even soft-top versions. Several engine options will be available for future owners: from two 355hp Mercury MerCruiser petrol engines to two new generation 380hp Volvo Penta D6 -380 diesel generators.

Other new developments are awaiting the Bavaria aficionados in Dusseldorf: visitors will be able to evaluate the renewed design of the Cruiser line.

Visitors will also be able to see the new Style equipment package for the S-Line range of motor yachts.
