The US Department of Homeland Security has launched a search for yachts belonging to Russian officials, politicians and businessmen who are subject to sanctions imposed over the situation in Ukraine.

The toys of wealthy individuals, which in addition to private vessels include personal jets and houses, will be searched throughout the country. The search promises to be thorough: very often property is attributed to shell companies, so the activities and ownership of all dubious businesses will be checked.

Yachts, planes, and houses that the investigation believes belong to any of the 45 disgraced Russians will be confiscated. All other assets will be frozen.

The press secretary of the Russian president , Dmitriy Peskov, said that the news was unexpected for him, but did not cause surprise.

We shall remind you that Vladislav Surkov, Sergey Glazyev, Valentina Matviyenko, Dmitriy Rogozin, Gennadiy Timchenko and other influential persons are among those whose movable and immovable assets will be searched for.
