British amateur yachtsman Lindsay Court plans to sail solo around the British Isles without stopping. The purpose of the voyage is to raise money for the fight against prostate cancer and raise awareness of the disease.
Maggie May, a Beneteau 37.5 will set sail from Poole on June 22 and head clockwise to return to the same port in mid-July. The boat has more than 2,000 miles to cover, with Lindsay Court planning to cover the distance in three weeks.
The upcoming charity event is well covered in the local press, with renowned comedian Bill Bailey appearing as «the face of the» project.
Donations to cancer patients are encouraged on the project website and several third-party resources.
