The first Solar Regatta was completed in Moscow

Last weekend the capital hosted the first regatta on «solar» boats - vessels that use an alternative energy source. Amateur yachtsmen, students of Russian universities, took part in the competition. «Young people developed and built their own» racing bolides.

The overall classification was won by Anastasia Alekseeva from Samara, the second place went to Alexei Belkin from Ryazan. The amateurs managed to bypass the professional, Phillippo Ardito from the team «Synergy», who took third place.

Winners in the class of boats with motors up to 2 kW: Anastasia Alekseeva, Kirill Kalashnikov/Andrey Panteleev , and Irina Bolotova.

Winners in the class of boats with motors up to 1kW: Alexander Kuznetsov/Dmitry Khramov/Iskander Takhtamyshev, Alexander Tenison/Sergey Rogov and Sergey Fokin.

Winner in the category «Best technical design» - Irina Bolotova. Winners in the category «Best Innovative Design» - Semen Gankin and Ruslan Davydov (they are also winners in the category «Best Teamwork»).

In addition to the races, a scientific conference was held at «Solar Regatta». Its participants discussed opportunities for the development of green energy in Russia.
