The International Regatta Open Russian in the Finn class has come to an end. The races were held from 4 to 8 September. They were attended by 74 athletes from Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Italy, and of course, Russia, to compete for the Russian Cup and the final of the Andrey Balashov Cup.

There were a lot of medals, because apart from these Cups there was Russian Championship Finn class, Russian Championship Finn Masters, and Russian Student Sport Union Championship in Sailing, Finn class.

Opinions of the athletes and unseasoned people are divided as to how good the weather was. Under gale-force wind, pouring rain and 10 degrees of heat finnis were fine for three days and they were happy. The fourth, dry, clear and calm, but quieter wind, brought collisions and dropping two boats from the distance.

According to the results of four days all Italian team - 6 athletes - broke into the top ten. Not surprisingly, gold and silver medal race results went to Italian finnists Michel Paoletti and Giorgio Poggi. Russian junior Arkady Kistanov claimed bronze. Congratulations!

«Balashov Cup», the cumulative result in all races of the season, went to Belarusian athlete Konstantin Lashuk.
