Swedish boat builder Lidköpings Båtsnickeri, which produces sailing boats under SwedeStar brand, has bought shipyard Najad, writes Yachting Monthly. As explained by a representative of the new owner, Håkan Bengtsson, with the acquisition of Najad they will complete their line of sailing yachts.
«With this purchase we are in a really good position to build a strong and stable company with the SwedeStar and Najad ranges»," says Bengtsson.
The Najad shipyard was founded in 1971 and since then over 2500 boats have rolled off the slipway. The company has had a lot of bad luck in recent years, going through three bankruptcies.
