On Tuesday, October 22, a children's sailing school in Saratov was attacked, according to the press service of the All-Russian Sailing Federation.

Unknown masked men beat and chased into a guard carriage (guarded by a PSC employee) employees of VSK «Sokol». During the attack, they used gas canisters.

The attackers then, using a rigged floating crane, attempted to steal or destroy the cruising yacht «Viklan», which is on the balance sheet of the yacht club «Yunga». The yacht is damaged but still afloat.

As the attack on the ship took place both on the shore and in the water, the crime can be qualified as piracy, according to the Russian Yachting Federation. Besides, the Federation emphasizes that the school was attacked earlier too, but these attacks were hooliganism.

Members of the Presidium of the Russian Yachting Federation addressed to the officials in an open letter, asking «to resolve the situation and protect the interests of children's sailing».

The appeal is addressed to Governor of Saratov Region, Radaev V. and Head of Municipal Formation «Saratov», Prokopenko A.L.

Details of the conflict and the open letter are published on the Federation's website.
