Oracle Team USA partners with Airbus

Oracle Team USA has signed a contract with Airbus. According to CNN reports , the alliance will work on «unbeatable high-tech yacht».

The creator of the world's largest production airliner will give the US team access to its engineers in aerodynamics, materials science, hydraulics and data analysis. The airline's experts will work side by side with the designers of Orcale Team USA to improve the performance of the racing catamarans.

«I think joining forces will give us a significant advantage»," says Jimmy Spithill. « If you look at both industries, you'll see that they're a perfect match. We all fly - over water or through the air - and use wings. This is going to be a really cool project».

«There are so many similarities between yachts and airships that each side of the agreement will only benefit from collaboration. We will be able not only to learn new things and grow on ourselves but also to win»," adds Fabrice Bregier,President and CEO of Airbus.

No further details are yet known to the press. The vessel, improved by the joint efforts of the giants, will probably be ready by 2017 and will be used directly during the 35th America's Cup «».
