Peyron raced on the 31.5m trimaran Maxi Solo Banque Populaire VII, covering a total of 4,199 nautical miles at an average speed of around 23 knots.
The athlete, now 54 years old, is not new to racing: before his triumph in 2014, he had participated in the Route du Rhum seven times, his best result being fifth place.
