Russian sailors proposed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica with a sailing expedition. According to «RIA Novosti», the All-Russian Fleet Support Movement proposed to organize a voyage of two large sailing ships and 200 yachts on the route of the discoverers of the continent.
The approximate itinerary may look as follows: Kronstadt - Denmark - Great Britain - Canary Islands - Brazil - Australia - New Zealand - Antarctica.
At the same time, whether the trek will be undertaken, is not fully determined: according to one of the authors of the idea, Mikhail Nenashev, the project «is now being worked out in various departments».
