Australian company McConaghy Boats has announced that it will build a vessel based on a design concept nominated at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015.

The trimaran, known as Tri60 and featuring an unusual «sharp-nosed» shape, will be equipped with two engines of 475 horsepower each as well as two waterjet thrusters, will be able to reach 30 knots and will consume 30% less fuel than competing vessels. Reportedly, the 60-footer will also feature higher tonnage.

Two versions of the Tri60 Saloon (with a full-width saloon) and Tri60 Cabriolet (with more free space) are to be launched. The cost of new models has not yet been announced, but the media suggest that the trimaran will be available for about £1 million.
