A race involving members of the British royal family concluded yesterday in Auckland. The winner of the informal competition was the Duchess of Cambridge Kate. She managed to beat her husband William, who was previously engaged in yachting.

The Duchess and Duchess raced the NZL41 and NZL68 boats used by Team New Zealand in «the America's Cup», supported by compere skipper Dean Barker and team manager Grant Dalton.

According to Barker, Kathryn «really, really loves to compete». According to Dalton, the future king «has an aptitude for yachting and has done very well».
