The team of the famous British racer Alex Thomson announced that the athlete's new boat is ready. The launch took place on April 4. Traditionally, it was named after favourite sponsor Hugo Boss. The boat was previously called Virbac Paprec 3 and has an impressive history behind it.

She finished fourth in the 2012-2013 Vendee Globe after losing her keel.

She also achieved first place in the 2010-2011 Barcelona World Race, second place in the 2011 Rolex Fastnet and another first place in the 2010 Transat Jacques Vabre.

The boat has now been repossessed by Alex Thomson and Pepe Ribes, who were planning to use the boat for the 2014-2015 Barcelona World Race. The team has replaced the keel and also added the sponsor's logo on the hull and sails.

At the moment the boat is preparing to depart for Newport, where the planned transatlantic race will start. However, it turns out Alex Thompson will not be on board: he is forced to miss the important start due to the expectation of his second child. The Hugo Boss crew will consist of Pepe Ribes and Ryan Breymeyer.
