Naval architect Albert Sedlmayer, who recently founded his own company, is starting to make a big push into the market. Sedlmayer Associates PTY has revealed the design for the new Spectrum 52 catamaran, which will form a new class of vessel.

The Spectrum 52 will be the largest catamaran in the world. It will be 52 metres long and 22.2 metres wide.

It will get a modest but polished design and is said to be perfect for cruising. The boat will accommodate 8 crew members and 8 guests.

With a total sail area of 1,700 square metres, she, as well as the MTU 16V 2000 M84 engines, will be capable of speeds of up to 20 knots.

Exactly when the catamaran will be built and by which shipyard, is not yet known.
