At the Monaco Yacht Show Mercedes-Benz and Silver Arrows Marine designers unveiled photographs of the 14-metre yacht project.
Production of the yacht will not begin until next year.
Mercedes-Benz has decided to launch the design in honour of the 125th anniversary of the introduction of the internal combustion engine, a revolutionary design by Gottlieb Daimler, one of the founders of the German company at the time.
As Gorden Wagener, head of the Mercedes-Benz design division, said at the presentation of the project, the participants tried to give the characteristic design features of the German car brand to the boat, but it was more difficult than it may seem at first glance.
So far, the developed boat was unofficially named «Silver Arrow». The SAM specialists have taken care of the construction and engineering tasks while the Mercedes-Benz designers will proceed with the exterior styling, material selection, color schemes and the yacht's interior.
Very little is known about the technical side of the project with only her length being publicly available. There is no information about engines to be installed, estimated dynamic characteristics etc. We look forward to seeing the first yacht.
