The2012 Yacht Racing Image of the Year was announced yesterday at the International Sailing Forum. The winning photograph was taken by Maltese photographer Kurt Arrigo during the 2012 Rolex Volcano Race. Kurt spent his childhood by the sea, diving and, as a young man, fell in love with the sport of sailing. The sea is therefore the main focus of his work.
Second place went to Jan Roman for his photo of the Abu Dhabi crew at the Volvo Ocean Race and third to Thierry Martinez for his photo of Bertrand de Broeck's training before the 2012 Vendee Globe.
Note that we have written about all the prize winners before, but we didn't influence the choice of the winner in any way, honestly!
