Potro Rotondo met the regatta with a heavy mistral to 35-50 knots, with gusts to an extreme 80. Because of this the race started only on Friday, September 20. However, the winds had returned to normal and the class Melges 32 got a new champion - ARGO crew from the USA. Out of two Russian crews the best results were shown "Synergy." - 11th place. Twice during the regatta Synergy was in the top three.
