Clipper Around the World is a popular round-the-world race between 12 identical 70-foot boats, each sponsored by a specific city, region or country.

The regatta starts in 18 days from London, but extensive crew training is well underway. The training course seems to include everything from repairing sails to providing medical care. Among the trainers are sailors who have done their round-the-world sailing.

In the picture is a member of the regatta (not a model!), a British boat, in Trafalgar Square, next to Nelson's Column. She stood there for a few days as part of the PR campaign for the race. According to Sir Robin Knoch-Johnston, the founder of the regatta, it couldn't have been a better place.
