The 2012 Vendee Globe Race Village was officially opened last Saturday, as is tradition in the French town of Les Sables d'Olonne. The only female competitor, Samantha Davies from Great Britain, will try her luck in the regatta for the second time. She says she feels at ease at sea, especially on the longer distances. And, by the way, 4 years ago she came fourth.
