Britain's Ben Ainslie was namedISAF Yachtsman of the Year yesterday.
With his fourth gold med al at the London Games in the Finn class, four-time Olympic champion Ainslie is the most successful yachtsman in Olympic history. The 35-year old Briton, who also has an Olympic silver in 1996 in Atlanta, has surpassed Dane Paul Elvström, who from 1948 to 1960 has won 4 Olympic gold medals.
« Winning an ISAF award is a great honor, especially for those who helped me. A huge team - my family, friends, coaches and sponsors - all contributed to this success»," said Ainslie, who won the prize for the fourth time in his career.
