Some 110,000 yachting enthusiasts, industry professionals, crews and owners will descend on Fort Lauderdale (South Florida, USA) this week for the Bahia Mar Marina. The 59th edition of the largest open air boat show in the world - the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) - will be held from October 31st through November 4th, with more than 1.5 thousand boats from more than 1.2 thousand exhibitors from 52 countries present in seven areas over 2.7 hectares. FLIBS floating docks stretch for 6 miles.
The Fort Lauderdale show is one of the highlights of the year for anyone who cares about yachts. It marks the end of the Mediterranean season and the beginning of the Caribbean season as many yachts head west across the Atlantic for their wintering grounds.
