A rescue operation is underway in the Mediterranean off the coast of Menorca to rescue the sailing superyacht My Song, which fell off a dry cargo ship last week while being transported from the Caribbean Sea to the Balearics . Peters & May, the shipping company to which the dry cargo ship belonged, commissioned the rescue mission from Germany's MCS Marine Claim Services. The boat's position was continuously monitored and as early as May 31st, the MCS Marine Claim Services was able to approach her and prepare her for towing to Palma. So far, no further details about the fate of the famous racing boat have been reported.

During the rescue mission, the previously announced reason for the loss of Baltic 130 My Song was confirmed. It's assumed that the keelboat, assembled by the crew of My Song, broke during transportation. The keelboat is being examined by an expert committee, which is to give a final opinion on the causes of the incident.

Baltic 130 Moo Song, owned by Pier Luigi Loro Piana, was supposed to participate in the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta that will be held this week from June 3rd to 8th.

My Song will defend the title she earned last year.

The 39.6m boat was delivered to the owner in 2016. It is one of the largest all-carbon yachts in sailing. Her displacement is 105 tonnes including a 36 tonne lifting keel. And her top speed is over 30 knots.
