Hodor rushes to the rescue

Embark on an imaginary journey aboard the 66m Hodor support vessel

Throne Game fans «»will be delighted to know that the boat is named after one of the most charismatic characters in the series - the big good man Hodor, who helped Bran Stark on his dangerous journey north. The 66 meter long catamaran, built by the Spanish shipyard Astilleros Armón at its facility in Burela, is also ready to serve others, or more precisely, the Lonian superyacht.

As the naval architect of the project, Incat Crowther worked closely with the owner to create something unique that meets the dreams and needs of the individual. «Hodor»'s strength lies in his ability to carry everything he can.

Hodor accommodates five tenders, of which the largest - 17 meters - is equipped with four powerful outboard engines Seven Marine, as well as a submarine and helicopter.

For the latter, a fully certified take-off and landing area at the stern of the main deck is equipped, ready to welcome spin wing machines similar in size to the popular EC145.

In case of a landing on the ground, there are several cross-country vehicles.

The vessel also has its own diving center with a decompression chamber.

A folding bathing platform on the starboard side is available for guests' convenience. It also serves as the main «staging» area for the transfer of guests from «Hodor» to the mother ship and back.

The crew of 20 persons is accommodated in double cabins with single beds and in double rooms with one double bed. They all meet the requirements of the International Labour Organization Convention.

«Hodor» can reach a top speed of 22.5 knots and can travel 5,500 nautical miles at 14 knots. At the same time, it is very economical: its multihull design allows it to consume about 40% less fuel. A special exhaust aftertreatment system that meets the IMO Tier 3 standard reduces emissions. Apart from the two Humphree interceptors, which reduce swinging during riding, there are no additional stabilization systems on the catamaran - the hull itself provides sufficient stability.

Huge Hodor catamaran, which is the support vessel for the 87-metre Feadship's 87-meter Lonian superyacht , touched down in March. All this time there have been almost no details about about what's on board and how it works. But now there are no more secrets.
