How an ordinary superyacht was transformed into «gold» with the help of vinyl film

Until recently, the protagonist of the Transformation - the 55-metre yacht Kinta, built in 2008 by Turquoise Yachts - was listed for sale. But the boat found a new owner and he decided not only to rename the boat, but also to significantly change its appearance. For this purpose, the owner chose a non-standard (for yachts of this size) method - pasting with vinyl film. Now this yacht will not be confused with any other. «Gilding the» hull, masters of vinyl affairs have given to the vessel a kind of gangster chic.

This is what a yacht known as Kinta was like before her golden upgrade.

Kinta's radical transformation is due to the expertise of LuxWrap, a superyacht pulling company. As they speak proudly of themselves, «we do things that have never been done»before.

According to the founder of LuxWrap, he caught fire with the idea of pasting large boats two years ago, but no one around him believed that due to the laborious process and expensive material it is possible. If you can agree with the first remark, then perhaps not with the second: certainly, mirror vinyl is not cheap, but certainly not more expensive than repainting, which can cost several million dollars.

The advantages of gluing over repainting can certainly be attributed to the relative speed of all work. After all, yachts never stand idle: if they do not skate the owner, they are delivered for charter. So time in this case is literally money.

In this case, the LuxWrap team planned to cope with the task in a maximum of ten days, but three to four days was lost due to logistical problems and rain, as well as an additional request from the owner, who wanted to see «gilded» at the same time and water bikes with tenders. With all the obstacles, it was finally possible to manage in 13 days, which is also unbelievable.

A huge advantage of turning to LuxWrap is that there is no need to disperse the boat to craftsmen. Thanks to their own floating docks, they will arrive anywhere in Europe and do everything from start to finish almost without any help.

Kinta will change its name to Bellami after the American hair extension company of the same name. Soon she will go on a promotional tour of the Mediterranean Sea and then London Fashion Week.
