The expedition team, set out to explore the waters of the Gulf of Naples as part of the Tyrrhenian Sea in a 45-metre Feadship Harle, makes one discovery after another and becomes an unwitting witness to various natural phenomena.
A new period of volcanic activity is witnessed on the small island of Stromboli, in association with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. A spectacular photo of a boat with a lava-spewing volcano, which is named after the island itself, in the background is clear evidence of this.

One of the most important discoveries of the expedition organized by Cookson Adventures was the discovery of untouched human populations of red coral (Corallium rubrum). This is the most popular coral in the jewelry business and therefore has been hunted for since ancient times.
Another interesting and significant find was a rare species of black coral. It was found in several places off the coast of Sicily , although usually it is found only in tropical areas. In addition, scientists have recorded an unprecedented growth of algae due to rising sea temperatures. This is worrying as corals bleach with rising water temperatures.
