A powerful tropical cyclone Pam blew over the Pacific region a few days ago , destroying tens of thousands of homes in Vanuatu's islands - destroying nearly 90 percent of Port Vila homes. The speed of wind gusts exceeded 300 kilometers per hour, due to which experts assigned the disaster the highest - fifth category. The catastrophe took lives of more than 44 people. According to the latest information, the disaster has overtaken New Zealand. A number of areas of the North Island have already been flooded by torrential rains, and power has been cut off in small towns. Local authorities have advised residents to stock up on food and drink for a few days.
