The optimist is elated.

Erplast, the only optimist class dinghy manufacturer inFrance,has designed and built a prototype of an optimist class dinghy with hydrofoils in collaboration with Perspective design. The designer of the project is Philippe Roulin, naval architect at Perspective Design. Only two months have passed between the end of the design and calculation phase and the beginning of sea trials of the boat. Testing of the prototype should be completed by early summer. The model, called Optifoil, will first be tested by the Erplast youth sailing team.
