The architects of the Danish Olympic pavilion located on the famous Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeirowere inspired by yachting . A white sailing cloth is stretched between aluminium "masts" forming a large interior space of almost 300 square metres, which houses a bar, a press centre and an exhibition hall where visitors can learn about Danish companies and products. At night the structure is illuminated in red. The lighting, together with cross-shaped transparent acrylic embedded in the roof ribs, forms the Danish flag. Denmark is the only country with a themed pavilion at the Olympic Games in Rio.
