A 60-foot racing yacht ran aground off the coast of Byron Bay, Australia. The sailboat was on its way to the Sunshine Coast in southeast Queensland to race. The five people on board were able to deploy a lifeboat and make their way ashore. The operation to remove the boat from the shoal would be paid for by the insurance company. It was decided to pull the boat out from the shore, but no one knows how long the rescue attempt will last. For now, the owner only has to watch the tidal surge hitting her.
