Team Greenings' Clipper 70 ran aground a few hours after the start of Stage 3 of the Clipper Round the World, a total of eight stages. The Greenings only managed to get a short distance fromCape Town, stranded halfway to Cape Point. The crew of the Greenings and her skipper Andy Woodruff were unharmed as the men were safely evacuated to Cape Town. This will be the third time the Greenings have competed in the Clipper Round the World. This year, the team managed to win both of the first stages of the circumnavigation, which started August 20 from Liverpool . This despite an unfortunate onboard accident on the seventh day after the start: Greenings skipper David Hartshorn cut his left thumb with a rope while cleaning the spinnaker.
