Circumnavigator's ration

This photo shows all the food that French yachtsman Francois Gabart took with him on his solo circumnavigation of the Macif trimaran: the ration is divided into eight bags, with the contents of each bag designed to last six days. The Frenchman is thus provided with food for 48 days (although, according to his crew, he is able to stretch his meal for 60 days by tightening his belt a little). Gabar set off on a round-the-world voyage on November 3. His goal is to break the solo circumnavigation record set last year by Thomas Coville. Thomas circled the globe alone in an unprecedented 49 days, 3 hours 4 minutes and 28 seconds.
