The NZ Millenium Cup superyacht regatta concluded on 26 January in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. There were six sailing superyachts entered, led by last year's winner, the 28m Tawera from Alloy Yachts and the largest yacht in the fleet, the 39.7m Janice of Wyoming (also from Alloy). However, the winner of the regatta was not a veteran but a newcomer, the 24.7m Southern Wind Ammonite sloop who came first in four of the six races held. The NZ Millenium Cup was established in 2000 and is the southernmost sailing regatta in the world.
